RE: Three Season Porch at 6030 - 3rd Street NE, Fridley
Dear Mr. Lukey:
In response to your letter to Ms Dacy dated 3-25-91, we offer the
following comments.
First, as to the June 1, 1991 compliance date, we feel the time
given is appropriate and can be met if your desire to comply is
sincere. We are willing to work with you as far as responding to
your plans when you submit them.
In order to respond to your question about the fiberglass roof, we
first must have you determine what manufacturers product it is and
then obtain the bulletins that pertain to how it is to be
installed. We have one technical manual distributed by "Filon",
on their system, that you are welcome to look at if you desire.
We picked it up from API located on about 53rd & Main Street.
Your proposal to engineer a beam to be installed, as you indicate
on your sketch, under the roof framing would solve all the other
structural problems with the roof since it will remove all the load
from the facia of the original house.
The live load for snow in Minnesota is 40 lbs per square foot. The
Building Code for structural design for single family house framing
has not changed in the last 8 years, however you are welcome to.
look at our older copies if you desire.
Please feel free to call me if you have any other questions.
Sincerely,
D EL G. CLARK
