Two trusses were modified by the Cuss supplier (see attached detailing) to Incorporate an Interior bearing support at a 2 x 4 stud wall. Modification of the treses was In progress during my visit and appeared to be progressing properly. At The location where the two trusses cross the interior stud wall, a minimum of 3 studs will be n xgAred to provide adequate support for the trusses. In one case, 3 new studs should be Inserted Pito the wall framing. At the other location, the 3 studs already exist, but due to gaps between the studs, they may not act together as necessary. I recommended spacers be Inserted in the gap (spaced at 12° to 16" c.c.). The studs should then be anchored together, though the spacers whenever possible. At the west exterior wall (end of the shorter span of the trusses), an additioonal hurricane c:ltp should be installed (2 per truss minimum) to prevent the potential uplift condition -created by certain loading conditions. The a cQncr to stab on grade li,adsquste to support the anticipated loading from .the new built-up stud posts, so no additional foundation woWis neceSSary.
