The fire was confined to that unit and the roof above the windows on the east end of the north wall. There was significant smoke damage to the north wing third floor corridor on the east end. The electric utility was shut off to the north wing. Tenants of the north wing were placed in temporary housing provided by the Red Cross. Residents in the south wing were allowed to return to their apartments following the fire. Fire alarm repair personnel and electricians were enroute to the scene when we cleared and the owner was advised to contact his insurance company for board up on the damaged apartment and roof area. The property owner, in his request, agreed to pay all costs associated with this installation. This charge shall apply as long as the light remains in place regardless of change in ownership of the property. Any increases in lighting costs will also be reflected in future billings.
