A separate manual shut-off valve (supplied) should always be used. STEP 6 - Gas line connection Connect the gas line to the heater manual valve inlet, using 1/2" pipe. To ease installation, a listed flexible connector and manual shut-off valve are supplied. The manual shut-off valve should be connected opposite the gas valve. Gas connections can be made from outside the heater by opening the lower panel. All connections must be checked for leaks with a soap and water solution. Bleed the gas line to extract any air that may have been trapped inside the pipe. STEP 7 - Access door opening The access door, located at the base of the heater in the front, opens simply pulling on the handle. See Figure 17. This will expose the gas valve and pilot controls as shown in Figure 18. To close, simply press the door against the magnet into its original position.
