The condition of your driveway apron has been brought to my atten-
tion. It seams that a jackhammer was used to remove the verticaZ
ledge on the curbing to make an opening for your driveway approach.
Whenever a driveway is constructed dealing with this type of curb-
ing., it is required that the curbing be completely removed back to
the nearest joint so there is a clean break when the new concrete
driveway depressed curbing is installed. The concrete opening must
be of the same type as your neighbor's across the street.
It has been our experience that pouring concrete over the cut off
curbing does not hold up very well and eventually it will break up..
This type of breakup then comes under the Nuisance Ordinance_
I would appreciate it if you would correct this problem at your
earliest convenience. If I can be of any assistance, please feel
free to call me.

Dear Mr. $ Mrs. Tech:

As we have mentioned in past letters and conversations, the existing
driveway approach to your driveway is not up to City standards and
we feel that it will be presenting maintenance problems in the future.
Therefore, the City intends to replace your existing driveway entrance
with the standard concrete driveway depression by July 2nd, 1976.
In our past discussions, mention has been made and concern noted re-
garding your past experiences and problems regarding the drainage pat-
tern of your front yard area and driveway. We recommend and strongly
urge you to make arrangements to have the driveway reconstructed and
built up at the entrance behind the curb to retard any surface drain-
age from the street. The driveway profile located next door at 1641-
61st Avenue would be an example to use in your corrective work.
Should you have difficulty in obtaining a contractor to perform the
work, the City can arrange to have the driveway portion of the work
done and bill you for the appropriate charges. If you feel that the
required corrective work to your driveway is the responsibility of
some other party as you have indicated in our conversations, please
arrange to have a determination made and inform us of your arrange-
ments and desires before the aforementioned date to insure proper co-
ordination of the work.
