BARD OF APPEALS b=TZ TG X== o FEBRUARY IQ, 1965:
Mr. and Airs. Hammel were present at the Council meeting. ire mere no others
present for or against the variances. The City Manager explained the reaglOst
Rfffor constrei-tion of a two family dwelling upon a 66 foot lot, that zing
wa not a guas .on since the area in which the owners propose to ftld the
tw 40d ling is already zoned, B-3o The size of the side yards an either
side of the two family dwelling, specified in the coning ordinance, does nod`
allow sufficient ram for the construction of a garage alongside the two family
dwelling. Ince, the . Appeals Board stipulated that off street parking for four
cars be provided in back of the two family dwelling, wh£ch requires running a
driveway across the side yard along one side of the two family dwelling. Mayor
Nee asked Mr. Hammel if there is a multiple. dwelling on the Bast side of the
proposed lots.- Mr. Hamel said, "mss, there is." Mayor Nee asked if these is
a parking lot for the multiple dwelling, on the Bast side, in the back of the,
multiple dwelling. Mr. Hauamel . answered, "Ibg Mayor Nee asked if Mr. Lester,
the property owner to the West of the lot of the proposed . tqo family dmalling,
was interested in selling some of the land to the thst. Mr. Baal answered
that he was not. Mayor Nee asked if Mr. Vaster had received notice of the
hearing for variance for the construction of a two family dwelling. The City
Manager stated that Mr. Lester did have notice of hearing. Councilman Kirkham
stated that this property was a rdther small lot, but s$nes all the surrounding
buildings were eultiple dwellings, he could see no reason why the request for
variance should not be granted. Motion by Kirkham to concur with the action of
the Appeals Board and grant the variance with a stipulation that a parking lot
for four cars be prided in back of the two famLly dwelling. Seconded by

Dear Sir:
I enclose herewith an Application to the
Board of Appeals and City Council for a variance
on my lots on 79th Street so as to permit the
construction of a duplex on this property.
I have attached a list of the owners of property
within 200 feet of my lots as required, also a
sketch showing location of the property and
adjoining property.
Will you please let me know what is the
next step in this procedure and bill for lax
publication fees etc.
I have been unable to use this property
or sell it because of the fact that there is an
apartment building on one side and I am hemmed in
on the other and cannot secure additional land.
enc.
Yours very truly,
Isabel H. Hammel
