A plumbing permit was issued on June 6, 2000, for the above noted address,
to install a gas water heater. According to section 4715.2800 of the State
Plumbing Code, a final inspection shall be conducted on the plumbing authorized

Dear Mr. Hayes:
Recent changes in State Rules and Met Council requirements required that all
individual sewage treatment systems (ISTS) in the City of Fridley be inspected, properly
maintained, and meet the State criteria for conforming treatment systems. As a result
of these mandates, the City of Fridley amended Chapter 402 of the City Code regarding
Water and Sewer Administration to reflect these requirements. Public hearings on
these changes were held by the City Council on August 28, 2000 and again on
September 11, 2000 prior to approval.
The changes in Chapter 402, as pointed out in the City's letter dated August 15, 2000,
require that you have your sewage treatment system inspected by November 1, 2000
and then biennially after this initial inspection. To date, we have not received an official
inspection form for your system. If you have not had your system inspected, please
have a licensed inspector do so prior to November 1, 2000.
If you are uncertain as to the effectiveness of the treatment of your existing system or
conformance to the current system requirement and would rather forego this inspection
and connect to the City sewer system, please sign the attached "Intent To Connect To
City Sewer" document and return it to the City by November 1, 2000.

They were declared a public nuisance for a number of reasons, such as: they can cause
erosion, contaminate soil with oil and other vehicles fluids, and deposit soil and gravel in the
City's storm sewers and detention ponds. When gravel driveways were declared a public
nuisance, the City Council gave property owners five years to have their gravel driveways
paved. The five-year deadline is quickly approaching, which means all gravel driveways within
the City of Fridley must be paved with approved concrete or asphalt by December 31, 2002.
If on December 31, 2002, your driveway hasn't been paved a citation will be issued and filed at
the Anoka County Courthouse. A misdemeanor citation is a criminal offense and is punishable
by up to 90 days in jail and/or a $700 fine.

CONSTRUCTION WATER & EQUIPMENT RENTAL
Application is filled out, deposits are held and charges are paid at City Hall, Building
Inspection Division.
Application is then taken to filtration plant. All equipment is picked up at Commons
Filtration plant at 601- 61st Avenue from Water Department personnel.
Water Department will list on application what equipment was borrowed and the meter
reading on the meter if used.
Application is left at filtration plant until equipment is returned and the final meter reading
is put on application.
EQUIPMENT MUST BE RETURNED IN GOOD CONDITION TO GET DEPOSIT BACK.
Call City Hall before bringing equipment back to insure that someone will be at the
filtration plant to receive it
Bring signed application back to Building Inspection Division, Citic Hall to get deposit back.
