BUILDING INSPECTION REPORT
Benson's Inn
6498 East River Road
Act. 31, 1967
Lot 2, Block 3, Johnson's River Lane Addn.
An inspection of this property on October 30, 1967, indicates deficiencies
noted in enclosed Building and Electrical Reports dated March 31, 1967 ,
Plumbing Report dated April 3, 1967, and Health Inspector's Report dated
June 15, 1967, have not been corrected. The further deterioration of this
structure due to inadequate protection from the elements is also noted.
Evidence of rodents burrowing exists at the center of the west foundation wall
After discussing this mattter with Mr, Hensley, City Health Officer, he
Agreed to reinspect this property and report his findings to the City Attorney.
The Building Inspection office feels the basic structure is still adequate,
but unless repairs are made with in the near future deterioration to structural
members will place it in the dangerous building classification. This office
called Benson Investements regarding their plans for this property, Mr.
Chandler stated that they propose to lease this lot and building for a
Christmas tree lot as they did last year, after which they will make a
decision on demolition or renovation. He also stated he has received bids
on such demolition with he felt were in excessive amounts and was
considering alternate methods of resolving this problem.
