Subject: Fire Damaged Building
Location of Fire: 1320 Creek Park Lane
Date of Fire: March 12, 2018
The fire department was dispatched to 1320 Creek Park Lane on a reported structure fire.
Automatic aid was dispatched and SBM, Columbia Heights and St. Anthony responded.
There was a delayed radio dispatch during which time Fridley was responding based on the
pending incident information in the Computer Aided Dispatch system. The information was
visible on our mobile computers. I was on scene and changing into my protective clothing
when the first units were checking in route on the radio. SBM Fire heard the first information
on the police channel.
The fire started in an attached garage and extended from a service door up the exterior wall
and into a bedroom. The fire was contained to those two areas. All of the occupants were able
to safely escape and several cats were removed unharmed. No one was injured. Extensive
video was recorded from two fire vehicles and a helmet camera and will be used for training.
The Building Department and Rental Inspection were notified and responded to the scene.
The building is uninhabitable. None of the utilities were shut off to the building.
A hydrant in front of the house was used in the operation.
