Call to Order
Chair Hanson called the meeting to order at 7:06
Members present: Nick Olberding, Justin Foell, Heidi Ferris, Mark Hansen, Kyle Mulrooney, Paul Westby
Absent: Heidi Ferris, Sam Stoxen
Staff present: Rachel Workin, Environmental Planner
Approval of Minutes
Commissioner Mulrooney moved to approve the February 13, 2018 meeting minutes as written. Vice Chair
Olberding seconded the motion.

New Business
Partners in Energy- Energy Action Team
1)
Ms. Workin discussed the formation of the Energy Action Team in support of the Partners in Energy
program. Commissioner Westby suggested that hydroelectric power in the River be investigated. Chair
Hansen and Vice Chair Olberding agreed to represent the EQEC. Ms. Workin said that she would
provide further information.
Environmental Fun Fair

Ms. Workin said that the meeting for the Fun Fair was rescheduled for 3/20 at 3:00 PM. Another
meeting will be at 4/2 at 5:00 PM.
National Trails Day

The group discussed hosting a trails day event on June 2 starting at 10 AM. Ms. Workin requested
details for inclusion in the May newsletter by the end of the month. A flier for the event can be
distributed at the Fridley booth at the Environmental Fun Fair.

The group discussed interest in participating in the event. Ms. Workin will coordinate with the Lions.
Old Business
Organics Update
1)
Ms. Workin stated that 124 families had enrolled. The City will be offering a free bag of 20 lb. compost
as an incentive in an upcoming mailing

Commissioner Foell moved to adjourn the meeting and Commissioner Westby seconded the motion. The
meeting adjourned at 7:59.
