Gs- . Re: Street construction - Sexter Addition Dear Ivasim: Mr. Donald Sexter, of Sexter Realty, has requested us to coordinate any work necessary for the completion of street work on Polk Street to bring this construction up to city requirements for subgrade compaction. It is quite evident by the specifications and inspector's reports that a greater degree of care should have been taken to ensure a well-compacted granular backfill than is normally expected. Although Suburban Engineering did not view the job during construc- tion, we do not feel that specifications were followed as to com- paction. It is suggested that a minimum of four tests be made at varying depths in the trench to determine compaction. These tests were required by the special provisions at the expense of the contractor. If you concur with this recommendation, or if you have any alternatives, we would appreciate having you write us stating your position on this matter. Thank you for your cooperation.
