Prior to constructing or repair of any water or sewer line connec�ting the ex.isting municipal system and any
house or building for whiclz the application is made,the owner or contractor shall be required to obtam a
pexmit for such connectiQn,and shall pay a permit fee as provided in Chapter 11 of this Code: After such
connection has been made,the'DJater and Sewer Department shall be notified. It shallbe unlaw.f�l to cover
any connecting line until an inspection l�as been made and such connection and the work incident thereto
has been aggroved by the City as a praper and suitable connection.
402.06. REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE TO COlVNECTIUN
Aftar the initiai connection has been made to the water service curb stap b�ox or the sewer lead at t�.e
groperiy line or a water service or sewer lead has been extended to tUe praperty line for connection,the
applicant,owner,or the accupant or user of such premises shall be liable for all zepairs requIIed to any
water line and any sew+er lines necessary for connectian of the pzemises from the main to the premises. If
the properiy owner requests maintenance services or repairs be performed by the City,the property owner
shall be charged for the costs of the maintenauce and/or repairs,includi.ng an.y necessary street repairs,at a
rate set aunually by an administrative policy. It shall be the responsbility of the applicant,owner,occnpant
or user to�perform standard maintenauce of the sewer service line frnm the premises ta the mam including
debris clearing or root cuttin.g and to maintain the water service curb stop box for operab�ity and at such
height as will ensute that it remains above the finished grade of the land or properiy: (Ref 638,1156,1191j
