Mrs. Uabel asked how many rooms there were, and Mrs. Willson answered there were f'our rooms upstairs that would be made into an ap�rtment, plus a large porcn. She added that they would be living in the downstairs apartment which also consisted , of four rooms and a porch, and there would ee twa stairways. Chairperson Harris asked if they were proposing a considerable amount oi' remodeling, and Mrs. Flillson said the,y were. Mr. Langeni'eld asked if' they had complete heating and cooking elements separate �'or the rental area, and Mrs. Willson said tnat was right. N'•rs. Gabel asked ii� they would be making the upstairs apartment into a one or two bedroom, and Mrs. Willson replied it wouid oe a Lwo-bedroom apartment with separate bathroom and kitchen facilities. Mr. tiergman asked if' a petition had been circulated or any f'orma� document signed by the neighbors, and Mrs. Taillson said she nad no signed statement but tne neighbors she had talked to didn't object. She said she felt i2' anyone had an objection they would be at this meeting to voice their opinions. Cnairperson Harr.is asked iY they had a c�ne-car garage, and Mrs. Willson said they were planning on building a garage that would be lart,e enough to include a tenr.ant. Mr. Harris tnen asked if they were planning on paving the driveway, and Mrs. idillson said sne wasn't sure� but Mr. l3oaraman said it would be required to meet all codes. Mr. Langenz'eld said he would like to indicate that due to the age oi' thi.s dwelling it snould be approved as i'ar as f'ire saf'ety was concerned, and Mr. tsoarciman said it wou.id be required to meet code. Mr. t�ergman asked what type oi' dwelling existed on each o� the four sides. Mrs. Willson answered that there were 't470 double bungalows on one side, a vacanL lot which they owned on the other side, a four-plex across tY�e street, a five-family apartment kitty-corner across the street, and a Metro 500 gas station behind them. � Mr. Boardman explained that the area behind them was zoned M-1 a.nd R-l.
