CHAPTER 402.WATER,STORM WATER AND SANITARY SEWER

402.5 PERMIT FEE
Prior to construding or repair of any water of sewer{ine connecting the existing municipai system and any house or building for which the
application is made,the owner or contractor shali be required to obtain a permit for such connection,and shalt pay a permit fee as provided in
Chapter 11 o�f this Code. After such conneccion has been made,the Water and Sewer Departmerrt shall be not[fied. It shall be unlawfu{to cover
any connecting line until an inspection has been made and such connection and the work incident thereto has t�een appraved by the City as a
proper and suitabie co�nection.
402.06 REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE TO COPINECTlON
After the initiai connectio�has been made to the water service curb stop box or the sewer lead at the property line or a water service lead has
been extended to the property line for connection,the applicant,owner,or occupant or user of such premises shall be liable for alt repairs
required to any water tine and sewer lines necessary#or connection of the premises from the main to the premises. lf the property owner
requests mairrtenance service or repairs be performed by the City,the property owner shall be charged for the cests of the mair�tenance andJor
repairs,inctuding necessary street repairs at a rate set annually by a�administrative poticy. It sfiat{be tfie responsibitity af the.applicant,
ow�er,occupant or user to perform standard maintenance of the sewer service line from the premises ta the main induding debris clearing or
root cutting and to maintain fihe�uvater service curb stap box for operability and at such height as will ensure that it remains above the�nished
grade of the tand or property. (Ref 638,1156,1191)

ACTION NEEDED:Sandi in Utility Billing has requested the following:.I need the guys to stop in to 6909
Hickory Dr NE to see if they can get into home to get a meter reading and change to an AMR if they do get in.We
haven't gotten a water meter reading here in 2 yeazs and the woman isn't paying either.Not a problem normally,but
we are charging her really high consumption and she was one older woman there.So not sure if we are over billing
her due to ancient history.If the home seems empty and they can't get in,can they leave a notice for someone to
call us to schedule an appointment.Also wondering if she's passed away and we should bill someone else.
