FYI---The water meter there is from 1955, so I'm not sure if there will be a problem with valves. He just bought it as foreclosure so who knows. I did warn the mom that if there is a problem,the guys will let her know if Eric needs a plumber&who we recommend. PERMiT FEE Pcior to canstructing or repair of any water or sewer line connecting the existing municipal system and any house or buitding for which the appiication is made,the owner or contractor shall be required to obtain a permit fiar such connection,and shalf pay a permit fee as provided in Chapcer 11 of this Code. After such connection has been made,the Water and Sewer Department shall be notified. It shall be unlawfui to cover any connecting line until an inspection has been made and such connection and the work incident thereto has been approved by the City as a proper and suitable connection. 402.06.REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE TO CONNECTION After the initial connection has been made to the water service curb stop box or the sewer lead at the p�operty line or a water service or sewer lead has been extended to the praperty line for connection,the applicant,owner, or the occupant or use�of such premises shall be liable for all repairs required to any water line and sewer tines necessary for connection of the premises from the main to the premises. If the property owner requests maintenance service or repairs be performed by the City,the property owner shatl be charged for the costs of the maintenance and/or cepairs, including any necessary street repairs,at a rate set annuatty by an administrative po(icy. It shali be the�esponsibility of the applicant,owner,occupant or user to perform standard maintenance of • the sewer service iine from the premises to the main inciuding deb�is clearing or root cutting and to maintain the water service curb stop box for operability and at such height as wiil ensure that it rema9ns above the finished grade of the land or property.
