Hi,
Shirley Griffith's son Vince called about the high consumption at 5297 Matterhorn Dr. The appt is for Friday,tomorrow
at 1pm. His ph#is 612-272-5211.
He said the home has been empty about a month or so(before current bill service period}and they've removed and/or
repaired all the toilets and the softener. He said the softener wasn't working and was totally shut off all of September.
However the bill based on usage 6/30 thru 9/30/12. The softener could have been leaking for 2 months before getting
shut off. He's in construction and had his guys check out the plumbing and found no leaks. The toilets there now have
been left shut off unless someone is in home cleaning& needs to turn on something to use it. Insisted no leaks before
he fixed the softener and all the toilets.(so why fix them?????) If whoever goes out could sound him out about why to
fix toilets that are working fine
Thinks is the meter.The meter is old, 1969, I told him meter is old so no problem to change it out but,
** I told him we would test the meter to see if it tracks the consumption accurately, if it does, I cannot change the large
consumption on this bill. We got a reading from them on 10J1/12 of 4129 and the current reading Thursday afternoon
was 4139410. Used 10tgals in 40 days. Consumption is much lower, but is still registering water when no one lives there

402.05. PERMIT FEE
Prior to constructing or repair of any water or sewer line connecting the existing municipal system and any house
or 6uilding for which the application is made,the owner or contractor shall be required�a obtain a permitfor such
o„t�ee�ien,and shall-pa�-r�T�crnit fPP a�nrovided in Chapter il of this Code. After such connection has been
made,the Water and Sewer Department shall be notified. It shall be unlawful to cover any conne tng�n � '
inspection has been made and such connection and the work incident thereto has been approved by the City as a
proper and suitable connection.
4�2.06.REPAIRS AND MAINTENANC�T�CONNECTION
After the initia[connection has been made to the water service curb stop box or the sewer(ead at the property
line or a water service or sewer lead has been extended to the property line for connection,the applicant,owner,
or the occupant or user of such premises shall 6e liable for all repairs required to any water line and 5ewer lines
necessary for conne�tion of the premises from the main to the premises. If the property ov�ner requests
maintenance service or repairs 6e performed by the City,the property owner shall be charged for the casts of the
maintenance andJor repairs, including any necessary street repairs,at a rate set annually by an administrative
policy. !t shall be the responsibility of the applicant,owner,occupant ar user to perform standard maintenance of
the sewer service line from the premises to the main including debris clearing or root cutting and to maintain the
water service curb stop box for operabifity and at such height as wilt ensure that it remains above the finished
