2001-ILLEGAL DUPLEX LTR January 26, 2001 David Menken. Paul Gaydos, et al. 3755 Belmont Lane East Maplewood, MN 55117 RE: Illegal duplex at 4042 Main Street NE. Fridley, MN. Dear Property Owners: It was recently brought to the City's attention that your property at 4042 Main Street is being illegally used as a two family dwelling and has been advertised for sale as such by Steve Carrigan, your realtor. Your property is located in the R-1 zoning district which allows single family dwellings only. Your property file indicated that you requested a Special Use Permit to convert your property from a single family dwelling to a two family dwelling in March of 1981. The City Council denied your request. Also in 1985 & 1993 the City sent you letters demanding that you cease illegally renting this property as a two family dwelling. To date you have not complied. If the situation is not corrected by April 1, 2001 the City will proceed with necessary legal action. This letter has been copied to your realtor and also to the MN Department of Commerce Licensing Unit so that they are aware of your realtor's actions.
