Treed of - t e a We personally want to thank everyone who help decorate the Trees of Joy. Every year the trees look better than the year before. The donations that came in this year were so wonderful and it seems that more and more people want to be a part of this tradition. In 1995, we decorated eight trees and in 1996, we will be decorating twelve trees, thanks to a special donation from the Golden K. The trees were displayed in the center and the Golden K inquired about them. A BIG Thank You for their $100 donation. We will be shopping after the Hoildays for the bargain buys. Keep us in mind when you are at the store for decorations (miniature size), lights (strings of 35), garland, bows, etc. Thanks again for all that helped decorate and to those who have donated to this annual project. II Page(#) a s i W ' ....... . ...... ... 3 ...... t ;.. l a ........................... ........................... During the holidays, it always seems appropriate to count our blessings and reflect on the year that is about to end looking forward to the possibilities in the year to come. 1995 has definitely had its set of challenges for the Senior Program with the change in transportation services, the loss of many close friends, and constant search for funding for services in light of federal cut backs, however, there is much to be grateful for too. During the past year we have celebrated a number of wonderful accomplishments and successes. Volunteers overwhelmed us with their dedicated service to our fundraising efforts working concessions at the Ball Park and Bob's Produce. We truly found a dedicated friend in Bob and Mike Shore at Bob's Produce. Our partnership not only raised much needed funds but helped to increase our positive image in our community. Our first Health Fair was very well received in November reaching over 300 seniors and building wonderful relationships with Allina Health Services and the County Public Health Department. The Wreath Sale beat last year's total selling and delivering over 900 wreaths. And finally our special senior friend, the Fridley Lions Club, not only gave us a lovely Christmas Party but added a gift of $8,000 to subsidize the Senior Transportation Program on the Anoka Traveler. You see even in what seems to be the worst of times, we have a lot to be thankful for. Have a blessed holiday and good fortune in the coming New Year.
