Albert Myers, author of Success Over Sixth and Pat Moore, a national senior marketing authority, will also address the audience. Senior Options is the Twin Cities' first major expo for the elderly, pre- retirees, their families and friends. More than 150 exhibitors will be displaying products and services for seniors. The Expo also will feature seminars on a variety of topics of concern to seniors, including: financial planning, housing options, physical and mental health, exercise and nutrition. "Dear Abby," whose syndicated advice column appears in more than 1,000 newspapers with an estimated daily readership of 80 million, is the world's most widely syndicated columnist. She receives thousands of letters a day from men, women and children on everyday matters and controversial topics, including: Shoplifting, facelifts, rape, arson, sex and etiquette. Van Buren will speak at a Senior Options luncheon from noon - 1 p.m. , Monday, October 21. Albert Myers, 67, is president of Success Over Sixty Institute, a national organization to assist men and women who are retired or approaching retirement to lead fulfilling lives. Myers, who has also written a book, Success Over Sixty, will share his experience as a retiree, discussing how to start and structure a new business, how to match life-long experience with a new career and how to gain success through volunteer work. Myers will speak from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. , Tuesday, October 22. Pat Moore, 32, will share her experience of posing as an 80 year-old woman, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. , October 21. Moore is founder of Moore & Associates, a research, design and marketing firm, that specializes in products for the elderly. To gain an indepth understanding of her customer, Moore posed as a senior citizen, 12 hours a day, for three-and-a-half years. Moore gathered research dressed as a wealthy widow, middle-income grandmother and a bag lady in 116 cities in 14 states. Moore will speak about the treatment she received and the problems she encountered as a senior citizen. Senior Options is a program of the Metropolitan Senior Federation and the Health Futures Institute. It is made possible, in part, through a generous grant by the Medtronic Foundation.
