HomeMy WebLinkAbout100415 FAlrm Plan RevCITY OF FRIDLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE PREVENTION Fire Alarm Plan Review Comments Date: April 14, 2010 Address: 100 - 85th Avenue, N.E.; Springbrook Nature Center Project: Install new fire alarm system with communicator Contractor: Silent Knight Security Group Contractor shall be familiar with this review document and contents prior to initiation of work. The conditions contained herein shall be considered as requirements for the proposed project. A written response or additional documents may be necessary and are due prior to initiation of the Final Inspection and approval for issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy or Fire Department permit completion. You may contact the Office of the Fire Marshal at (763) 572-3621 for additional information. 1. Contractor shall provide key(s) for the fire alarm control panel and annunciator for placement in the Fire Department key lock box on premise. 2. If a passcode is required for access to silence and reset functions in addition to the key provided, the contractor shall install the City Fire Department code for those panel functions which is available from the Fire Marshal. (2007 MSFC Section 506) 3. When the silence function is activated at the fire alarm control panel or annunciator panel, audible notification function shall be silenced. The visual notification function (strobes) shall continue to operate until the system reset function is activated. (2007 MSFC 907.9.1) 4. Are there any HVAC units which currently contain required smoke detection devices? If so, they must be compliant with 2007 MSFC 907.11. 5. Monitoring agency shall report fire alarm incidents to the Fridley Fire Department’s dispatch center, Anoka County Central Communications, at (763) 427-1212. 6. Final inspection and testing of the installed system and monitoring signal generation shall be conducted in accordance with provisions of 2007 MSFC 907.17, 907.18 and 2002 NFPA Standard 72 and witnessed by the Fire Marshal. Contractor shall contact this office to arrange the witnessed testing and inspection. 7. Contractor shall arrange for Central station monitoring agency to provide a list of signals which it receives during witnessed testing and inspection. A copy of this report shall be forwarded to this office. 8. When permitted work, inspection and testing is completed, contractor shall provide the Fire Marshal’s office with a Certificate of Completion required by 2007 MSFC 907.18 and 2002 NFPA Standard 72 verifying that the system has been installed in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
