Project: Alteration
of Existing Space for Unknown Business
1. Alter/modify fire sprinkler system as necessary for alteration plan to include over and under new overhead door. City FD permit required.
(MSFC Ch 9 and NFPA Std 13)
2. Install emergency egress illumination as required throughout exit system (MSFC 1003.2.11)
3. Install compliant exit signage as required (MSFC 1003.2.10)
4. Provide
and install fire extinguishers as required - minimum 2A Classification rating and maximum travel distance of 75 feet to extinguishers. Note: When mounted in exit passageways or corridors,
extinguishers shall not obstruct the egress path by more than 4 inches. (MSFC Section 906, NFPA Standard 10, MSFC 1003.2.5.3)
5. Fire extinguishers shall be mounted so that the top of
the extinguisher is not more than 60 inches above the floor. If the extinguisher has a gross weight exceeding 40 lbs, the top of the extinguisher shall be installed with the top not
more than 3-1/2 feet above the floor. (MSFC 906.9)
