Contractor: International Fire Protection Corporation 22275 Meadowbrook Avenue N Scandia, MN 55073 612-242-4576 Contractor shall be familiar with this review document and contents prior to initiation of work. The conditions contained herein shall be considered as requirements for the proposed project. A written response or additional documents may be necessary and are due prior to initiation of the Final Inspection and approval for issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy or Fire Department permit completion. You may contact the Office of the Fire Marshal at (763) 572-3611 for additional information. Modify Existing Systems 1. Technical characteristics of added sprinkler heads shall be identical to those in the existing system. Heads must be listed and approved for their use and be fully compatible with the existing system. 2. If any piping change is required, pipe and/or accessories shall be technically identical to existing piping and accessories. 3. Contrac tor shall assure compliance with 2002 NFPA Standard 13 provisions concerning identification of control, drain and test connections (2002 NFPA 13, 6.7.4); sprinkler water supply caution signage (2002 NFPA 13, 7.6.1.5) and riser hydraulic design information signage (2002 NFPA 13, 16.5) and install if required signage is missing. 4. Sprinkler system drains shall be plumbed to the outside of the building. System drains shall not be discharged into the sanitary sewer system. (City Rule) 5. No ceiling pad out which bars view of main piping, branch piping and pipe accessories above the ceiling shall be accomplished until approved by the Fire Marshal. 6. Contractor shall perform a cursory inspection of premise sprinkler heads to ascertain if recalled sprinkler heads are present in the existing system. If so, the recalled heads shall be replaced with approved, listed components with technical specifications which match the recalled heads. The sprinkler contractor shall also file an amended permit request for replacement of recalled heads. (2007 MSFC 901.9) 7. Contractor shall provide this office with a Certificate of Testing and Materials for Aboveground Piping when proposed project and testing is completed. (2002 NFPA 13, Section 16.1) 8. A final inspection of work performed under this permit will be conducted when work is completed. Please notify this office when permitted work is completed. Reviewed by John Crelly, Asst.
