Title
Water Plant Tour and Water System Presentation
Background
In 2020, construction was completed on the Locke Park Water Treatment Plant. Staff continues to
just certified a completed emergency response plan assessment for its water utility. Guidance and input
is requested from the City Council on the items presented and discussed.
Financial Impact
There is no financial impact with the items presented for discussion.
Discussion
1.!Nic Schmidt, project engineer, will lead a tour of the new and reconstructed facilities at the recently
upgraded Locke Park Water Treatment Plant. A brief dedication ceremony for the plant. There will
be a few minutes afforded for questions and discussion. Those meeting will walk from the Civic
Campus to the plant and back.
2.!Staff will present an update on its AMR metering program including completion of automatic
meter reading equipment installation. Staff will also discuss options to move toward advanced
meter infrastructure (AMI) and to provide greater service to ratepayers.
3.!Staff will summarize recent reports on its water system, including its water quality report and a
recently completed emergency response plan assessment for the City
