Review of First Draft of Park System Improvement Plan Final Report
Background
City staff have been working with consultants WSB to summarize and report on the methodologyand
recommendations of the Park System Improvement Plan process that has been undertaken since 2019.
The final report document provides a detailed explanation of F
to hold stakeholder meetings, draft park concept plans, receive feedback on concept plans and develop
a final listing of refinements and priorities for our park system.
Financial Impact
The Park System Improvement Plan Final Report details priorities for park system improvements that
include priorities for a $30 million budget. Up to $50 million in potential park improvements have been
identified with $20 million being deferred. Projects in the deferred category are prioritized so that
projects can be completed if grants are received, or cost-savings are achieved.
Recommendation
No specific recommendation is given at this time. Staff and consultants will present the report to
Council and provide clarification where requested.
