I hereby certify that the following is an excerpt from the
minutes of a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village
of Fridley, held on the 7th day of January, 1952, at the Village Hall
in the Village of Fridley with the following members of the council
present:
Carl Hartman
Jacob Steiger
Ward Norling
Herbert Bacon, Sr.
Richard Gottwaldt
The following members absent:
None
The following resolution was introduced by Mr. Gottwaldt
and duly seconded by Mr. Steiger, "Be it resolved by the Village Council
of the Village of Fridley meeting in regular session on the 7th day of
January, 1952, that the two petitions from residents of the Village
involving the speed on Highway 56 and on Highway 65 within the village
be accepted and acknowledged and that the Village Council go on record
as recommending to the State Highway Department that a speed of 40 miles
per hour be placed as a maximum speed on Highway 56 between Highway 100
and Mississippi Street, all within said Village of Fridley, and that
a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour be placed on Highway 65, between
Highway 100 and 77th Avenue, all within the Village of Fridley and
further that a copy of this resolution, together with the originals
of the petition submitted to the council be forwarded by the Village
Clerk to the Commissioner of Highways for immediate action."
The resolution was duly adopted by unanimous vote.
