1. Update on the 57 Avenue BNSF Railroad Overpass.
Staff provided an update on the legislative efforts made to secure funding for the final design, discussions

with BNSF Railroad, and the potential closing of the 77 Avenue at-grade rail crossing.
2. Landscaping Options/Cost Sharing for the Vacant Lot on the Northeast Corner of University and 61
Avenues.
Staff presented potential designs and amenities to improve the barren lot owned by the City on the corner
st
of 61 and University. Staff worked with landscape architect Brian Harjes to develop a concept plan that
will enhance University Avenue, provide amenities to Fridley residents, and function as a micro multi-
modal transportation hub. Staff also provided a phased approach to developing this property.
3. Update on Redevelopment Projects Identified in the Comprehensive Plan.
Staff provided an update on the on the 21 redevelopment areas identified in the City’s Comprehensive
Plan.
