Resolution No. 2024-05, Approving a Municipal Inflow and Infiltration Grant Application and Agreement with Metropolitan Council Environmental Services Resolution No. 2024-05 Approvinga Municipal Inflow and Infiltration Grant Applicationand Agreement with Metropolitan Council Environmental Services Whereas, through efforts coordinated with the Metro Cities Association and the Metropolitan Council, and with the assistance of the State Legislature, $1.5 million in funding has been made available to assist with sanitary sewer inflow/infiltration (I/I) reduction on private properties within selected metro communities; and Whereas, the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) Division has been assigned to administer the program; and Whereas, after meeting with eligible cities and holding a public meeting for the purpose of gathering input, the Metropolitan Council approved a processes, guidelines and schedules for the grant program; and Whereas, the City of Fridley (City) is an eligible community under the aforementioned grant program, which will assist private property owners with funding of qualifying expenses relating to private lateral repair and replacement, disconnection of sumps, and televising and cleaning of service laterals for private property owners; and Whereas; the City initially requested eligible expenses of $100,000 for eligible I/I mitigation work from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024; and Whereas, MCES has provided a preliminary estimate to the City for a grant award of $50,000; and Whereas, in order to receive granted funds, the City must finalize its preliminary application by passage of this resolution and the Metropolitan Council requires approval and execution of the attached Grant Agreement. Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley, hereby approves the Final application and sample Grant Agreement between the Metropolitan Council and the City of Fridley, and the Mayor and City Manager are directed to execute the final Grant Agreement for submittal to the Metropolitan Council upon receipt. Be it further resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley, hereby directs the Public Works Director/City Engineer to execute and provide any additional documentation necessary to effect reimbursement of cost share grant funds under this Grant Agreement. th Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Fridley this 8 day of January, 2024. _______________________________________ Scott J.
