Resolution No. 2024-21, Approving an Exemption to the Terms of the Temporary Intox. Liquor Permit for the Fire Division Resolution No. 2024-21 Approving an Exemption to Terms of the Temporary Intoxicating Liquor Permit for the Fire Division for an Event to be Held on March 16, 2024 at the Springbrook Nature Center Whereas, the Fridley City Code (Code) and various sections of Minnesota Statute (M.S.) direct licensing requirements for certain business activities within the City of Fridley (City); and Whereas, pursuant to the Intoxicating Liquor Chapter of Code, the City Council (Council) must approve liquor licenses and permits; and Whereas, the Fire Division will be using an existing licensed caterer and liquor license holder in accordance with the Code; and Whereas, the terms of Section 603.24 state the Council may require the license holder to hire unformed police officers to remain on premises during the use of the license; and Whereas, City staff have discussed and reviewed this proposal; and Whereas, applicable City staff recommend the exemption to Section 603.24 by the Council. Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the exemption of Section 603.24 of the Fridley City Code requiring the contracted Intoxicating Liquor Licensee to hire police officers for an event to be held at the Springbrook Nature Center on March 16, 2024. th Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Fridley this 12 day of February, 2024. _______________________________________ Scott J.
