Resolution No. 2024-29
Approving a Water Quality Cost Share Agreement with the Coon Creek Watershed
District for the Purchase of a Leaf Vacuum System
Whereas, the City of Fridley implements a robust street sweeping program as part of its
Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System permit and for improved aesthetics of the City; and
Whereas, owning a leaf vacuum system will allow the City to expand capacity for enhanced
street sweeping, reduce material disposal costs, and decrease landfilling of street sweeping
debris; and
Whereas, the above City Project will improve water quality within the City and the Coon Creek
Watershed District by reducing total phosphorus and total suspended solids loading to
Springbrook Creek and the Mississippi River; and
Whereas, the City of Fridley has been awarded a grant in the amount of $50,000 by the Coon
Creek Watershed District for the purchase of a leaf vacuum system; and
Whereas, the City of Fridley has allocated funds in its Capital Investment Plan for the remaining
cost of equipment.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the
Water Quality Cost Share Agreement with the Coon Creek Watershed District for the purchase
of a leaf vacuum system.
