Resolution No. 2024-64
Approving the Purchase of a Critical Incident Mitigation, De-escalation and Rescue Vehicle
Whereas, the City of Fridley (City) would like to purchase a critical incident mitigation, de-escalation,
and rescue vehicle; and
Whereas, the vehicle would be used to enhance public safety response capabilities and ensure the
protection of both officers and citizens during critical incidents; and
Whereas, the vehicle’s protective features will allow it to venture into hostile environments and
facilitate the rescue of the individuals while providing safety for law enforcement; and
Whereas, the approximate cost of the vehicle and necessary 800MHz radio is $415,000; and
Whereas, in following the Uniform Municipal Contracting Law the City is intending to procure the
vehicle via a Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV); and
Whereas, the City has used for purchasing and is a part of the Houston-Galveston Area Council
(HGAC) Buy CPV; and
Whereas, the HGACBuy is procurement service available nationwide and all contracts available to
members of HGACBuy have been awarded by virtue of a public competitive procurement process
compliant with state statutes; and
Whereas, the contract number is AM10-2023.
Therefore, be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves and authorizes
the purchase of a critical incident mitigation, de-escalation and rescue vehicle from Lenco via the
HGACBuy CPV.
