Approving a One-Time Rental Fee Waiver at Moore Lake Community Building for Lee
Carlson Center for Mental Health and Well-Being
Whereas, the City of Fridley (City) has established rental fees for use of Parks and Recreation
facilities such as community buildings, park shelters, and athletic fields; and
Whereas, the City’s Parks and Recreation department administers the facility rental program for
the Moore Lake Community Building; and
Whereas, the City has established an application process for non-profit organizations to request
that facility rental fees are waived or reduced; and
Whereas, the City has received an application request to waive rental fees from the Lee Carlson
Center for Mental Health and Well-Being, a non-profit organization, for their Bridgeview Art Show
event to be held on November 21, 2024 at the Moore Lake Community Building; and
Whereas, the applicant has requested the City waive the $150 facility rental fee; and
Whereas, the Parks and Recreation Commission has reviewed the application at their October 7,
2024 meeting and recommended that the rental fee be waived; and
Whereas, staff recommend the facility rental fee be waived due to the community-oriented nature
of the event.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the
$150 fee waiver application requested by the Lee Carlson Center for Mental Health and Well-
Being for their Bridgeview Art Show event.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Fridley this 14th day of October, 2024.
