Approving a One-Time Rental Fee Waiver at Moore Lake Community Building for
Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO)
Whereas, the City of Fridley (City) has established rental fees for use of Parks and Recreation
facilities such as community buildings, park shelters, and athletic fields; and
Whereas, the City’s Parks and Recreation department administers the facility rental program for
the Moore Lake Community Building; and
Whereas, the City has established an application process for non-profit organizations to request
that facility rental fees are waived or reduced; and
Whereas, the City has received an application request to partially waive rental fees from the
Mississippi Watershed Management Organization, a non-profit organization, for their
Commissioner retreat event to be held on October 17, 2024 at the Moore Lake Community
Building from 2 pm until 5 pm; and
Whereas, the applicant has requested the City waive the $225 full-day facility rental fee and
charge the $150 half-day fee; and
Whereas, the Parks and Recreation Commission has reviewed the application at their October 7,
2024 meeting and recommended that the rental fee be reduced; and
Whereas, staff recommend the facility rental fee be reduced due to the community-oriented
nature of the event.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the
fee waiver application requested by the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization for
their Commissioner retreat event.
