414 Abandoned Vehicles (Issued 05-15-2008)FRIDLEY POLICE DATE OF ISSUE NUMBER: GENERAL ORDER May 15, 2008 414 SUBJECT: REVISION DATE SECTION: Abandoned & Unattended Vehicles May 15, 2008 Green I. PURPOSE To provide a means of identifying abandoned vehicles which are in violation of Fridley City Code of Ordinances Chapter 114. II. PROCEDURE A. Any officer or Community Service Officer (CSO), upon noting a suspected abandoned vehicle, will fill out an unattended vehicle check form and affix the hard copy to the vehicle so it is easily visible and not likely to become detached. The other portion will be placed on the CSO desk for follow-up in 48 hours. 1. The officer or CSO may chose to use a marker (in lieu of a vehicle card) to indicate the date and time checked, and the call sign of the person checking. This information should be written on the rear windshield. In this case the person checking will leave the information on the CSO desk for follow-up. C. Any vehicle found in violation of ordinance 114 will be towed and registered owner cited as prescribed in General Order 311 Vehicle Towing.
