Title
Candidate Interviews to determine Finalist for Public Art Installation at Commons Park
Background
On April 2, 2025, the City Published a Call for Artists to respond to a Request for Qualifications
application and submit examples of their Art and a Resume with the materials. On May 7, 2025, the
Commission convened and reviewed their scoring responses from 19 artists. From that discussion and
working exercise selecting the Artist. Two artists scored above the rest and those artists were chosen to
advance to the interview round. Invitations now are being sent to those artists to participate in a virtual

interview on May 14, 2025. Each artist will have 45 minutes to complete the interview portion and from

Financial Impact
The Fridley Arts Foundation will be providing funds for this Art installation.
Recommendation
Staff recommendthat all Commissionmembers be present for these important interviews and the
selection process.
