8-11-2025 City Council Meeting August 11, 2025 7:00 PM Fridley City Hall, 7071 University Avenue NE Minutes Call to Order Mayor Ostwald called the City Council Meeting of August 11, 2025, to order at 7:00 p.m. Present Mayor Dave Ostwald Councilmember Patrick Vescio Councilmember Ryan Evanson Councilmember Luke Cardona Councilmember Ann Bolkcom Absent Wally Wysopal, City Manager Others Present Melissa Moore, Assistant City Manager/City Clerk Brooke Hall, Communications Coordinator Olivia Gnadke, Communications and Engagement Specialist Pledge Of Allegiance Proclamations/Presentations 1. Award for Website Design or Redesign from the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators Brooke Hall, Communications Coordinator and Olivia Gnadke, Communications and Engagement Specialist, presented the Northern Lights Award that the City received for its work on the website redesign, completed in November of 2024. Approval of Proposed Consent Agenda Motion made by Councilmember Bolkcom to adopt the proposed Consent Agenda. Seconded by Councilmember Vescio. Upon a voice vote, all voting aye, Mayor Ostwald declared the motion carried unanimously. Approval/Receipt of Minutes City Council Meeting 8/11/2025 Minutes Page 2 2. Approve the Minutes from the City Council Meeting of July 28, 2025. 3. Receive the Minutes from the Council Conference Meeting of July 28, 2025. 4. Receive the Minutes from the Planning Commission Meeting of July 16, 2025. New Business 5. Resolution No. 2025-97, Approving a Three-Party Agreement Between the City of Fridley, Fridley Creative Arts Foundation, and Artist Ken McCall for Public Art Commissioned for Commons Park. 6. Resolution No. 2025-98, Approving the City of Fridley Data Practices Policy. 7. Resolution No. 2025-99, Approving Special Use Permit, SP#25-03 to Allow an Automotive Repair Use and Repealing Expired Special Use Permits, SP #79-03 for a Garden Center and SP #84-15 for an Outdoor Boat Yard and Patio Furniture Display Lot at 6301 Highway 65 NE (Ward 2) Claims 8. Resolution No. 2025-100, Approving Claims for the Period Ending August 6, 2025. Open Forum, Visitors: (Consideration of Items not on Agenda – 15 minutes.) No one from the audience spoke. Adoption of Regular Agenda Regular Agenda New Business Informal Status Reports The Council provided input on Night to Unite, thanking those who participated. The Summer Concert Series continues, and more information can be found on the City website. Adjourn Motion made by Councilmember Cardona to adjourn. Seconded by Councilmember Bolkcom.
