Requesting No Parking Designation Along 61 Avenue and 7 Street
Whereas, the City of Fridley (City) has completed construction plans for the Safe Routes to School
Improvement Project No. ST2026-21 (Project); and
Whereas, the Project includes the construction of shared-use trails and other miscellaneous work

(Improvements) along 61 Avenue and 7 Street; and
Whereas, these Improvements require the elimination of parking lanes along the north side of

61 Avenue from University Avenue (TH 47) East Service Road to 7 Street and the east side of 7
rd
Street from approximately 350 feet south of 63 Avenue to Mississippi Street (CSAH 6); and
Whereas, ample off-street, across-street, and side-street parking is available adjacent to these
segments; and
Whereas, this parking lane elimination has been presented to stakeholders at prior meetings, and
any concerns have been responded to.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves:

1. The City Council designates the north side of 61 Avenue as No Parking from University

Avenue (TH 47) East Service Road to 7 Street; and
th
2. The City Council designates the east side of 7 Street as No Parking from approximately
rd
350 feet south of 63 Avenue to Mississippi Street (CSAH 6); and
3. The Public Works Department install signage in accordance with the parking prohibitions
listed above in conjunction with the construction of the Project.
