HomeMy WebLinkAboutStamped Permit Set About the NEP BDM-300X2 As the NEP BDM-300X2 Microinverter we are using is likely unfamiliar to the majority of plan reviewers, here is a brief explanation of some of the particulars of how this piece of equipment fits into our plan sets: 1. The NEP BDM-300X2 is intended to be connected with 2 solar modules (solar panels) per each 1 microinverter. If there is an odd number of solar modules, we are able to have one microinverter with only one panel connected to it. 2. The rated AC output power of this microinverter is 500 watts. Some of you may have specs sheets stating that it is 510. This is based on an out-of-date model. The manufacturer has confirmed that the output power is 500 and has provided us with specs sheets confirming this. 3. The AC system size is to be calculated by multiplying the number of microinverters by the rated AC output power (500). AC system size should NOT be calculated by multiplying the number of microinverters by the peak AC output power (580), as that would be incorrect. 4. The NEP BDM-300X2 does not require a combiner panel unless there is more than one circuit of microinverters being installed. The only exception to this is found in "5", below: 5. The NEP BDM-300X2 requires the addition of a monitoring system. This monitoring system would ideally be installed in the Main Service Panel via a 15A-2P breaker. If there is not space in the Main Service Panel to install this breaker in addition to our solar interconnection, we will install a combiner panel in order to be able to install this breaker as close as possible to the point of interconnection.
