RE: Review of Garage Studs
6217 Central Ave

To Whom It May Concern:
Introduction
We were asked to grade sawn lumber and comment on it's use for the proposed garage addition at
6217 Central Ave in Fridley,MN. We visited the site on July 25, 2022.
Observation/Discussion
We viewed several sizes and qualities of Red Pine rough sawn boards. Studs were visually
graded as#1,#2 or#3 and individually labelled. We issued"Garage Framing"structural
drawings suggesting that the load bearing walls could be constructed with said#1 or#2 red pine
stud 19.2"(max)O.C. and that non-load bearing walls could be constructed with said#3 red pine
studs 16" O.C. (max). The building was constructed as directed.
Conclusions
The garage studs are adequate as constructed to support the roof.
