Approving Municipal Consent to the Minnesota Department of Transportation Final
Layout for Trunk Highway 65 Improvement Project
Whereas, the Commissioner of Transportation has prepared a final layout for State Project 0207-
130 on Trunk Highway 65, from a point approximately 250 feet south of 52nd Avenue to the I-
694 eastbound off-ramp within the City of Fridley for roadway reconstruction; and seeks the
approval thereof, as described in M.S. § 161.162 to § 161.167; and
Whereas, said final layout is on file in the Metro District Minnesota Department of Transportation
office, Roseville, Minnesota, dated April 14, 2026, S.P. 0207-130, from 37th Avenue NE to the I-
694 Eastbound Off-Ramp; and
Whereas, pursuant to M.S. § 161.164, the City Council conducted a properly noticed public
hearing on June 8, 2026, at the Fridley Civic Campus, where all interested parties, residents, and
affected property owners were given an opportunity to be heard; and
Whereas, the City Council has reviewed the final layout and determined that the project serves
the best interests of the City of Fridley and its residents.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley:
1. The City Council hereby officially grants Municipal Consent to the MnDOT Final Layout for
the Trunk Highway 65 improvement project within the City of Fridley, as presented.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the MnDOT District Engineer within seven days of its adoption.
3. City staff is directed to continue working closely with MnDOT and Metro Transit personnel
during the final engineering and design phases to minimize local construction disruptions.
