Ordinance No. 1250 04-28-2008ORDINANCE NO. 1250 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING FRIDLEY CITY CODE CHAPTERS 11 AND 102 ALLOWING STORAGE FEES FOR SEIZED MOTOR VEHICLES The Fridley City Council hereby finds after review, examination and recommendation of staff that Fridley City Code Chapter 11 related to Fees and Chapter 102 relating to Police be hereby amended and ordains as follows: SECTION 1: That Chapter 102 be hereby amended as follows: 102. POLICE 102.02. Stora�e Fees for Seized Motor Vehicles Whenever a motor vehicle is seized by the police department and held at a stora�e facility or impound lot pendin� a forfeiture action commenced under statutory authorit�, the City maX assess fees to the owner or lien-holder of the motor vehicle for stora'°�e as specified in Chapter 11. In addition, the owner or lien-holder of any such seized motor vehicle shall be responsible for payment of any towin.°� charges. SECTION 2: That Chapter 102 be renumbered after Section 102.01 by adding the above section as 102.02 and renumbering each section thereafter. SECTION 3: That Chapter 11 be hereby amended as follows: 11.10 Fees CODE SUBJEGT ' FEE ' 102.02 Storage fee for seized motor vehicles $10 per dav for each day or part of a day the seized motor vehicle is held at a stora e fg acilitv or impound lot. The total storage fees assessed on anv one motor vehicle shall not exceed $500 or 50% of the value of the motor vehicle as determined bv competent authoritv, whichever is less.
