ORDINANCE NO. 1293
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE CHAPTER 508, SECTIONS 508.21,
508.21.4 AND 508.21.5, AND ENACTING CITY CODE CHAPTER 508, SECTION
508.21.5.E. RELATED TO THE SALE AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL IN CITY
PARKS AND AT THE SPRINGBROOK NATURE CENTER
THE CITY OF FRIDLEY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amendment. Chapter 508, Section 508.21of the Fridley City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
It shall be unlawful for any persons to have in their possession or to consume any ��g
'�����r �r 2.''0� m�'*'�����r alcoholic bevera�e in or upon any City park or �g beach, except
as provided � ��'��'�����;��� , '' ���' 2 below:
Section 2. Amendment. Chapter 508, Section 508.21.4 of the Fridley City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
4. Notwithstanding any laws to the contrary, upon approval of the City Council and issuance of a
temporary on-sale ��g liquor license, as provided for in Chapters 602 and 603 of the
Fridley City Code, � r*'�° °�'° �� °*r���'�°°r ���' T-���°, a club, charitable, religious or nonprofit
r��'�'�� �r ���rr��* rr����*° organization may sell and allow buyers to consume malt liquor and
wine �*r^„� '�°°r ^„�' T���„° at Commons Park and Community Park Sale and consumption of
°*r�r� '�°°r �r�' T-��r° malt liquor and wine at Commons Park and Community Park shall be
limited to that occurring during, and as a part of, a community festival. Community festivals
shall include Fridley 49er Days and other festivals of broad community appeal and participation
as designated by the City Council.
Section 3. Amendment. Chapter 508, Section 508.21.5. of the Fridley City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:

�t�t�tt�-�4�� malt liquor and wine may be sold and or consumed for receptions or social events
within the Springbrook Nature Center Interpretive Building and/or in an adjacent outdoor

following conditions:

affair canducted an the premises af the Springbraak Nature Center; hawever, the licensee
is prahibited fram dispensin� malt 1ic�uar ar wine ta any�ersan attending ar participatin�
in a yauth amateur athletic event bein� held an the premises. A vauth amateur athletic
event, far the purpases af this sectian, is defined as an event whase participants are 18
years af a e.°� and vaunger.
Sectian 4. Effective Date. This ardinance sha11 be in fu11 farce and effect upan its publicatian as
pravided by 1aw.
