Ordinance No. 0360 03-20-1967ORDINANCE N0; 360 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING S'LANDBY PAY FOR CITY EMPIAYEES AND AMENDING SECTION 3.02 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY. The Council of the City of Fridley do ordai❑ as follows: Sect:ion 3.02 of the City Code of the City of Fridley is amended to read as follows: The regular work week of each employee shall commence on Monday of each week and terminate on Friday of each week and sha11 consist of (40) hours each week, holidays excepted. -Also, except when the need of any department as determined by the City Manager, shall otherwise require, the work day shall commence at 8;00 o'clock A.M, of the day, and shall terminate at 5:00 o'clock P.M. of such day, with one (1) hour being provided and allowed each employee during and between the hours of 12 noon and 1 P.M. for lunch oz personal needs of said employee. Overtime and overtime pay for any day shall commence after the expiration of the regular working day. Overtime and overtime pay for any week sha11 cpmmence after the expiration of the regular working week. It is provided, however, that no employee shall.,be entitled to overtime pay for any day or for any week unless the actual hours of work duxing the week shall be additional hours or days of work and are not performed oa such day in lieu of other hours or days of work regular to such employee. There are certain employees of the City, other than the police or firemen, who are and may be designated by the City Manager to serve in a "standby" status in behalf of the City on a Saturday or Sunday or other _ holiday of the City; to perform work as may be necessary to the public interest on such day. The "standby" employee is entitled to and may receive as compensation for such service as "standby'! two (2) hours of regular pay for� each day served in such status. If on any such day, the employee in "standby" shall actually perform work for the City, he sha11 be entitled to compensation for each hour, or portion thereof, actually worked at 1� times the regular In the public interest, an employee may be called to perform work for the City after the regular working day and in such event, the employee shall receive pay computed as follows; For such overtime work performed pay computed at the rate of one and one-half (1-.1J2) times the regular pay, but not less in any event than an amount equal to two hours regular pay; provided, however, that such minimum amount shall not apply in the case of an employee who had not left the site of the work performed during the regular working period, and such employee is directed to perform work for the City within one (1) hour of the expiration of the regular working day, in which case the work performed is considered normal overtime for the period of time actually worked, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 20TH DAY OF MARCH, 1967. � -'� i L,Sn��i%7/'�OW... � - Jack 0.
