ORDINANCE NO. SD9
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.03 OF THE FRIDLEY CITY CODE
The Council of the City o£ Fridley do ordain as follows:
Section 1: Section 3.03 of the Fridley City Code is hereby amended
to read as follows:
3.03. The following days shall be holidays, and no
employees, except in the case o£ necessity to public
sa£ety, health and welfare, or unless the requirements
of his employrient so provide, shall be obliged to
per£orm work on such day; and when so per£ormed, com-
pensation for such work shall be paid as overtime work
at the rate of one and one-half (1�) times the regular
pay. The following days are "holidays", New Year's
Day, January l; Washington's and Lincoln's Birthday, the
third Monday in February; Memorial Day, the last Monday
in May; Independence Day, July 4; Labor Day, the first
Monday in Septeinber; Christopher Columbus Day, the
second Monday in October; Veterans Day, the £ourth Monday
in October; Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in
November; and Christmas Day, December 25; provided, when
New Year's Day, January l; or Independence Day, July 4;
or Christrnas Day, December 25; £alls on Sunday, the
following day shall be a holiday and, provided, when
New Year's Day, January 1; or Independence Day, July 4;
or Christmas Day, December 25; falls on Saturday, the
preceding day shall be a holiday.
