AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.08 RELATING TO THE USE OF FUNERAL
LEAVE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES
The Council of the City of Fridley do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3.08 of the FridleK City Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
3.08 An employee who has been duly summoned for jury duty in any
court or who has been du}y summoned as a witness in any proceeding,
shall be excused from work for the purpose of complying with such
summo�s, and while absent from work in accordanee therewith, such
employee shali be entitied to receive as pay a sum of money equal
to the difference between what he receives as compensation for
such jury duty or witness fees and his regular pay. Any employee
absent from work in accordance with the order of a duly estab-
lished military authority shall receive pay and compensation during
such absence as is provided by State Law.
In case of death occurring in the immediate family of an employee,
such an employee may be excused from work for up to three days-
wi_th additional time off qranted by the CiYy Manager if additional
time is needed. This time off shall not subject the employee to
loss of pay. For this purpose, members of the immediate family of
the employee are considered to be the following: spouse, child
(natural or adopted), parent, grandparent, brother, sister, mother�,
