AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHARTER 102.02 OF THE FRIDLEY CITY CODE FORMERLV
TITLED DISPOSAL OF LOST AND STOLEN PROPER7Y AND CHANGING TITLE TO
UNCLAIMED PROPERTY; DISPOSAL
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
That Chapter 102.02 be amended as follows: '
The Assistant City Manager/Public Safety Director shall hold a public sale
for the disposal of property lawfully coming into possession of the Fridie,y
Police Department in the course of municipal operation and remaining unclaimed by
the owner for a period of at least sixty (60) days. Public sales shall be
held at least annually, the proceeds from said saie shall be deposited with
the treasurer of the Fridley Police Pension Fund and become part of said fund.
The former owner of sold property shall have the right to payment of the sale
price from the fund upon appTication and satisfactory proof of ownership within
six (6) months of the sale. Notice of said public sale shall be given in a
legal newspaper at least ten (10) days prior to said sale after the Police
Department has made a reasonable effort tb contact the legal owner of the property.
