AN ORDINANCE A1�1ENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE CITY CODE OF FRIDLEY
BY AD�ING SECTIONS 18.10, CONSTRUCTION WORK HOURS AND 18.11,
ALTERNATE HOURS WORK PERMIT
The City Council of Frid7ey does ordain as follows:
Chapter 18 of the Code of FrTdley be amenaed by adding:
18.10. CONSTRUCTION WORK HOURS
Tt shall 6e unlawful for any person or company acting as a contractor fnr
payment, ta engage in the construction of any 6uilding, structure or utility
�nclud�ng but not l�mited to the making of any excavat�on, clear�ng of
surface land, and load�ng or unloading mater�als, equ�pment or supplies,
anywhere in the Ctty except between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.
Monday through Fr�day and between the hours of 8•30 A.M. and 5:00 P.N�. on
Saturdays. However, such activity shall be lawful if an alternate hour•s work
permit therefore has been �ssued by the City upon application in accordance
with requirements of the paragraph below. It shall be unlawful to engage in
such work or activity on Sunday or any legal holiday unless an alternate
hours work perm�t for such work has first been issued. Nothing �n this
ordinance shall 6e construed to prevent any work necessary to prevent in,7ury
to persons or property at any time.
18.11. ALTERNATE HOURS WORK PERMIT
Application for an alternate hours work perm�t shall be made in writtng to
the City Manager and shall state the name of the applicant and his bustness
address, the location of the proposed work and the reason for seeking a
permit to do such work, as well as the estimated t�me of the proposed
operations. No such permit shal] be issued excepting where the publtc
welfare w�ll be harmed by failure to perform the work at the times indtcated.
