AN ORDINANCE RECODIFYING THE FRIDLEY CITY
CODE. CHAPTER 402. ENTITLED "WATER AND
SEWER ADMINISTRATIDN." SECTIDN 402.10.
METER READING AND PAYMENT FOR SERVICES
The Council ❑f the City ❑f Fridley does ❑rdain as follows:
402.1❑. METER READING AND PAYMENT FOR SERVICES
1. The City may provide a system ❑f water meter reading by post-
card. meter-reader. ❑r any ❑ther method deemed suitable t❑ the
purpose by the City Council. The City may als❑ establish billing
areas ❑r districts and provide for the readings ❑f ineters and
billing charges by calendar quarters ❑r monthly quarters. ❑r such
periodic intervals as the City Council shall determine suitable
and necessary from time t❑ time t❑ the needs ❑f the City. In the
case ❑f a post-card meter reading. each consumer shall mail ❑r
return the meter card ❑n ❑r before the due date.
2. Each consumer shall be assessed a❑ne dollar (51.00} penalty
for any card not returned within seven (7} days ❑f the due date.
3. A charge ❑f ten dollars (510.00} will be added t❑ the bill
if the reading card is not returned t❑ the City for the second
quarter billing.
4. A charge ❑f fifteen dollars (515.00} will be added t❑ the
bill if the reading card is not returned t❑ the City for the
third consecutive quarter. Such penalty and any use charges
(based ❑n an estimate ❑f the water consumer} will be added t❑
every quarterly billing thereafter if subsequently not read.
5. The water rate charges shall be considered net charges and
shall be the charges payable after the last day ❑f the month ❑r
billing period in which the billings are sent ❑ut.
5. Payments not paid within thirty (30} days from the date ❑f
the bill will be assessed a ten percent (100} penalty. (Ref. 552}
