A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ANOKA
TO MAKE.A STUDY OF THE NEEDS FOR STREET
IMPROVEMENT ON MAIN STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has, by zoning, reserved
and established certain lands adjacent to Main Street for
industrial use, and
WHEREAS, the County of Anoka, acting by and through its
representative Board of County Commissioners, has signified
a desire that there be created and established in said area
a so- called "Industrial Park ", which area would be furnished
and provided with an adquate and improved right of way for
access into,and from said area along Main Street, and
WHEREAS, the County of Anoka has requested the cooperation
of the City of Fridley in the study, planning and development
of said area for industrial use, and has signified a willing-
ness to construction certain improvements of said area and
upon Main Street, upon conditions as are mutually agreeable
and upon condition that the City of Fridley obtain the needed
right of way,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the
City of Fridley, as follows:
1. The City of Fridley finds that it is to the mutual interest
of the City of Fridley and the County of Anoka that the
lands in the area adjacent to said Main Street be improved
and developed for industrial purposes.
- 2. That to facilitate the proper use and development of said
lands, there is need for an adequate and improved right of
way along Main Street for access into and from said area.
3. That in order that the needs of the area can be best met and
fulfilled, it is necessary that a full and complete study be
made of the area and the roadway, requirements, as to location
and design.
4. The County of Anoka is willing that such study be made by the
Engineering Department of the County, and accordingly, the
City of Fridley signifies its desire to cooperate and requests
that such study be made.
5. That it is,in the interests of the City
cooperate in all ways possible with the
development of said area for industrial
which will ultimately inure to the mutui
City and the County as a whole.
