Members Present Greig� 5heridan� Nagel� Johanson and Glolke Members Absent None CLAIM FOR DAMAGE TO CLOTi�ING - MRS. VERPIA HANDSTAD A letter from the above riamed person in the amount of ?�168.30 for damage to clothing when said Mrs. Handstad stepped into a deep hol�� in the mud� of I'airmont Boulevard� was presented to the Council. Counci] turned this claim over to the City Manager to be forwarded to the City's Insurance Compan,y. LETTER OF RESIGNATION ��ROb1 GNGINEEP - PUDLIC WORKS UTRLCTOR The Cotuicil received a letter f'rom the above asking that he Ue engaged as a Planning Consultant and Industrial Development Pnan working directly for the City Council� and remaining as 1,'ngineer- Director of Public Works� for a salary of ten to twelve thousand dollars. Mayor Greig appointed a Committee of himself, and Councilman Wolke to discuss the matter with the Engineer- Director of Public PJorks� and the City Manager� with authority to offer the Director of Public Works a�500.00 per year salary increase with no change in status. APPOINTMEAT'PS The City Manager asked the Council for its consent and approval of the transfer of Ann Ouellette from Switchboard Operator to Bookkeeper at a starting salary of $�24�.00 per month� and the appointment of Catherine Loquai to replace Ann Ouellette at a salary at �G231.00 per month. Councilman Nagel moved that the Council give its consent and approval to the above transfer and appointment. P4otion was seconded ,�y Johanson. Upon a voice vote� there being no na,ys� the Mayor declarPd the motion carried. The City Manager told the Council that he planned tc� up-grade to light equipment operators Robert Anderson and William r,og�er and up-grade Arthur Silseth to Sewer and Water Maintenance Man c�assifi- cation. The Council concurred� although there was no offictal action necessary. The Cotzncil recessed while the Committea of two consulted with the City Planager and the Engineer-Director of PuUlic Worlcs. 1�CCEPTANCE OF RESIGNATTON OP' ENGINP,LR-DIRECTaR OP PUBLIC WORK5 The Committee reported to 1-he Council that Mr. Kirchman� the Engineer-Director of Public Works� had refused the offer of an incx'ease of $500.00 per year� and had asked that the letter previously mentioned be considered his letter of resignation effective June 3�� 1960. Councilman Wolke moved that the City Council accept the resignation of Harry Kirchman as of Jvne 30� 1960. The moti_on was sec��nded by Councilman Sheridan, Upon a voice vote� there heing no nays, the Mayor dec]ared the motion carried.
