Mr. Schwartz stated no official assessment had been msde,as of this date� and since the last Board of Equaliza- tion meeting np atten�pt has been made to equalize the assessment. Mr. Schwartz then read a prepared statement� setting f'oz•th the duties of�the assessor��the affect of overlapping school districts� etc. Mr. Kordiak� and Mr, Stinson� County Conmissioners were present at the meeting. Mr:',Stinson stated the County Board is not trying to raise taxes� and would not go along with their big boost� but would go al;ong with 'a'smaller increase, one which would te acceptaXle to the City Council: Mr. Kordiak s�ated that in the psst� the County has always worked,with the City. He also outlined the many projects which the County hadl contributed,to in Fridley. Mr. Schwartz said he would certify the,ta$',palues as they had been equalized by the City Council of the City�,of,Fridley� and the €igures which the County had put in the_book should be,considered invalid. Mr. Schwartz stated he felt that tf the County Board of Equalization feels by a majority vote, that the assessment made by F'ridley should be increased� the people of Fridley should,be entitled to a hearing. Howard Crabtree asked the,C,ounty A'ssessor'what percent of increase was being given to the property�,and 'seperal other questions, Mr. Schwartz stated that the County would"1'ike to have 30 � of actual val�ue for the full and true value. Mr. Greig s�ated that he recogn3zed that Frldley might be a little low�,but,the residents of Fridley has been burdened with a lot of assessments'in the last few years� and he felt the increases in th'e assessed values shouLd be gradual.
